Interesting Facts About Cat Ears

เรื่องน่ารู้ของหูแมว

Many of you may have observed or noticed that when your feline friend hears a loud noise, they startle and become quite scared. That's because cats have highly sensitive and excellent hearing. Today, I have some interesting facts about cat ears to share with you.

Scientists estimate that cats can hear sounds up to 10 times louder than humans‼️

Therefore, it's not surprising that cats dislike environments with loud and chaotic noises, including taking them to places where loudspeakers and constant loud music play, as it can be detrimental to their long-term health.

In addition, a cat's ears can pick up sounds in the range of 40 to 65,000 hertz, which is a broader range compared to humans who typically hear in the range of 40 to 20,000 hertz. This wide hearing range allows cats to perceive even ultrasound sounds that humans cannot hear.

Not only are a cat's nerves and hearing impressive, but the characteristics of their ears can also convey emotions:

  • Ears Up and Slightly Outward: Pointing forward and slightly outward indicates that the cat is alert, happy, and relaxed.

  • Ears Down: Flat or down ears suggest anxiety or fear.

  • Ears Pinned Back Against the Head: Ears pressed against the head indicate submission or surrender, often in response to a threat.

  • Ears Pointed Back with a Slight Incline: Pointing back with a slight tilt suggests aggression or irritation.

  • Ears Moving Gently: If the ears move lightly, the cat is likely listening attentively to unfamiliar sounds. However, if the cat hears loud noises, the ears may point backward and twitch as a reaction to the desire to identify the source of the loud sounds.

Absolutely! It's fascinating how the little, tiny ears of cats can express so much about their emotions. Friends, you should definitely try observing your feline companions' emotions through their ears! 🥰🥰
